All artworks featured here are unique, original and created exclusively using AARON software, a pioneering art-generating program developed by Harold Cohen (1 May 1928 – 27 April 2016). The process was executed on an emulation of Windows 98, staying true to the software’s historical and technological context. This setup honors the legacy of AARON while celebrating its capabilities in producing timeless computer-generated art. Harold Cohen was a trailblazer in generative art, blending artistic intuition with computational innovation. Nearly three decades, Cohen dedicated himself to developing AARON, a groundbreaking program capable of autonomously creating intricate and evocative visual compositions. Far ahead of its time, AARON explored the potential of artificial intelligence as a creative partner, not merely a tool. In the 1990s, one of AARON’s significant implementations manifested as a Java applet. This digital embodiment of Cohen’s vision, titled

, gained exclusive licensing and presentation under the auspices of futurist Ray Kurzweil. The collaboration brought AARON’s creations to a broader audience, offering a glimpse into the intersection of art, technology, and the future of creativity. Cohen’s work not only expanded the boundaries of artistic expression but also laid the foundation for today’s generative art movements. A pioneer in every sense, Cohen’s legacy lives on as a testament to the fusion of human ingenuity and machine intelligence.AARON softwareWindows 98AARON
